  • know the fundamental principles of hydraulic system design that are common for heat pumps
  • know the fundamental principles of heat pump controls.
  • know how to plan and prepare for the installation of heat pumps.
  • know the requirements to install and test heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits)
  • know the requirements to commission heat pump system installations (non-refrigerant circuits).
  • know the requirements to handover heat pump system installations.
  • know the requirements for the handover of a heat pump installation (non-refrigerant circuits)
  • know the requirements for routine service and maintenance of a heat pump system installation (non-refrigerant circuits).

Lunch:

We have a catering van which visits our premises and there are several other facilities close by where food and drinks can be purchased.  A refrigerator and a microwave are available for use in our canteen.


Parking:

We have free onsite parking where a Reverse Park Policy is in place.  Please note it is mandatory for you to adhere to this policy if using our parking facilities. 

If our car park is full, we have use of the Jarrow Hall Coach Park as an overflow.

Pre-requisites

Candidates must hold (and be able to provide evidence of):

  • WRAS Water Regulations/Water Byelaws and
  • Minimum of:
    • NVQ L2 in Plumbing or
    • CCN1 and CENWAT

If candidates do not hold the above qualifications they will be required to provide evidence to us of an alternative suitable qualification and/or provide confirmation of their related work experience and skills (minimum of 2 years).


 
What To Expect

Candidates should expect to learn the theory and practical skills for sizing, installing, commissioning, maintaining, and fault-finding heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits), covering hydraulics, controls, and energy efficiency, with assessments involving both written exams (multiple choice, open book) and practical tasks to build competence.
