- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturers handbook for the particular machine to be used.
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions.
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with the manufactures and legislative requirements.
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for forward tipping dumper use.
- Prepare the forward tipping dumper for use and operate safely and efficiently.
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
- Attach and set trailers, ready for operation.
- Environmental considerations.
- Storage and transport of implements and attachments.
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures.

Any experienced Forward Tipping Dumper Operator who would like to renew their certification.
On successful completion of this course, candidates will receive an NPORS card.
3 Years
Candidates must have a current Forward Tipping Dumper certificate and be able to provide proof of this prior to course commencement.
This course is designed to refresh candidates theoretical and practical skills to enable them to safely operate a Forward Tipping Dumper.
NPORS Traditional Route - The card will last for 3 years. An NVQ is not required. The CITB Health, Safety & Environment touch screen test is not a prerequisite.
NPORS CSCS Route - Delegates will receive a red card, carrying the CSCS Logo, which is valid for 2 years. If you complete your NVQ within this time a blue card is issued which then lasts 5 years. Delegates must also have completed the CITB Health, Safety & Environment touch screen test within 2 years prior to the course. If you require the CITB Health, Safety & Environment touch screen test please let us know and we can arrange this for you. If an NVQ has already been completed, please let us know and you will receive a blue card lasting 5 years.

Certification Routes
NPORS Traditional Route:
• Valid for 3 years
• No NVQ or CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test required
NPORS–CSCS Route:
• Red card (valid for 2 years) issued upon completion
• CITB HS&E (CSCS) test must have been passed within 2 years before the course
• To upgrade to a blue card (valid for 5 years), complete a relevant NVQ
• If you already hold the NVQ, you will be issued the blue card immediately
If required, we can help arrange the CITB Health & Safety touch screen test.
We automatically apply for NPORS cards that expire by category. If you require a card that expires by card, please contact us to discuss.
If candidates hold a Health, Safety and Environment Test and would like this to appear on their NPORS card, please ensure they bring a copy of the card with them to the course. Without the copy, the Health and Safety logo will NOT appear on the NPORS card.
Candidates are required to bring paper and a pen to make notes during their training.
All candidates must bring with them one of the following forms of ID:
- A valid passport – no more than 6 months out of date
- A valid UK photo driving license - no more than 6 months out of date
- A photographic employee ID card
- A photographic ID card from an awarding body (e.g. IPAF, RTITB, NPORS)
