Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at those who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of environmental sustainability awareness. The objective of this qualification is to give learners opportunities for personal growth, improve their engagement about sustainability and prepare learners to progress to a qualification in the same or similar subject area. 

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of learning, typically over one day.

Topics covered

This qualification covers:

• Understand environmental awareness and sustainability terms 
• Understand the importance of environmental sustainability awareness 
• Know how individuals can be environmentally sustainable in their everyday life 
• Understand the relationship between waste, the industrial sector and sustainability.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, consisting of 25 questions that must be completed within 45 minutes. The pass mark is 18.

All learners must bring photographic identification to the assessment to be checked by the invigilator/assessor. We are required to ensure that each learner’s photographic identification is checked before they are allowed to undertake the examination/assessment. We will accept the following as proof of a learner’s identity: Valid Passport (any nationality) Signed UK Photo card Driving Licence Valid Warrant Card issued by HM Forces, Police Other photographic ID card, e.g. Employee ID Card (must be current employer), Student ID Card, Travel card.
