OVERVIEW
This qualification is aimed at employees, or those looking to enter/re-enter the workforce who are using, or likely to use abrasive wheels. Suitable and sufficient health and safety training is a requirement in workplaces and this qualification enables learners to correctly identify, mount and use an abrasive wheel on a handheld or portable tool.

3 hrs (1/2 day).

1. Understand key legislative requirements related to the safe use of abrasive wheels.
2. Understand key hazards and controls related to the safe use of abrasive wheels.
Be able to mount an abrasive wheel to portable or handheld abrasive wheel equipment.

Complimentary hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day. We have a vending machine where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased.
We have a catering van which visits our premises and there are several other facilities close by where food and drinks can be purchased. A refrigerator and a microwave are available for use in our canteen.
We have free onsite parking where a Reverse Park Policy is in place. Please note it is mandatory for you to adhere to this policy if using our parking facilities.

SUITABLE FOR
This qualification is aimed at employees who are using, or likely to use abrasive wheels.
Candidates will receive an QNUK Level 2 Award in Abrasive Wheel Safety (Portable and Handheld) (RQF) certificate.
It is recommended that this qualification is refreshed every 3 years.
The recommended minimum age to undertake this qualification is 18 years.
Due to the language of the assessment, it is recommended that learners have sufficient command of the English language in order to understand the assessment and to undertake the recommended assessment methods.
Anyone undertaking a regulated qualification is required to prove their identity. This ensures only those with a genuine claim to the qualification can make that claim. Learners who are unwilling or unable to provide a copy of their identification prior to assessment will not be able to complete their qualification. Acceptable forms of photographic I.D (1 is required) are:
• Signed UK Photo card driving licence
• Signed passport (any nationality)
• Valid EU Photo identity card
• SIA security licence (with photo)
• Current and valid warrant card issued by HM forces or Police
• Current and valid Prison service card (with photo)
• Proof of age card
• Employee photo identification card
• Student photo identification card or a recognised educational establishment
• Firearms license (with photo)
