Directions
From M5 junction 30 take the A376, at the first roundabout take the second exit on to the A3052. Continue for approximately 1 mile and Westpoint enterance is on the left hand side (also signed as Devon Drivers Centre).
When entering through the main gates take the first turning on the right signed Red One Ltd Headquarters. Red One is the first red brick building on the right. Please park in the spaces on the right prior to the building.

The aim of this course is to enable delegates to acquire the underpinning knowledge and skills to successfully engage with their role as a fire warden, and specifically:
- Identify the components of the tetrahedron of fire and describe the nature of the hazard presented by fire.
- Recognise the importance of fire precautions in the protection of people, property and the environment.
- Recognise and outline the main requirements of fire safety law (England & Wales), including the requirement to conduct a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment.
- Recognise the basic principles means of escape from fire and the arrangements typically made for ensuring the safety of people (including those less able) and their likely behaviour in a fire emergency.
- Recognise the official “good practice” guidance that has been published by HM Government, and its recommendation with regard to fire routines, initiating evacuation and the use of firefighting equipment.
- Recognise the principles of hazard identification and risk assessment (including the difference between hazard and risk) and the implications of failing to identify hazards and control risk.
- Recognise the range of hazards and risk that may be encountered in the workplace and good practice in how to record and report them and other incidents such as faults and near misses.
- Recognise the range of available fire extinguishing media, its preferred location, application and use.
- Recognise the importance of training and testing of fire precautions in sustaining fire safety.
There is no exam. The course is certificated by Red One Ltd.
