The course is not just about resuscitation, but also about dealing with common school injuries eg. nose bleeds, cuts and bumped heads with confidence. Emergency Paediatric First Aid for Schools is valid for 3 years and is specifically designed to meet the first aid requirements of those who look after children aged 5 and over.
This 1 day course is valid for 3 years and will cover:
Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
First aid kit information and equipment
Aims and priorities of first aid
Primary assessment and cardio pulmonary resuscitation for the adult, child (appropriate to the age of person) casualty
The Recovery Position
Choking
Minor, major bleeding and shock
Seizures Identifying childhood Illnesses and other medical conditions
This course is recognised by OFSTED and National Care guidelines and is valid for 3 years.
The HSE do 'strongly recommend' Annual Refresher Training.

Qualsafe Level 3 Emergency Paediatric for Schools
This qualification is valid for 3 years.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
