UNIT 1- First Response Emergency Care
UNIT 2- First Response Emergency Care of Trauma
UNIT 3- First Response Emergency Care of Medical Conditions FREC®3 is a Ofqual regulated qualification and is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care –The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D.
This 3 day course is valid for 3 years and covers:
Roles and responsibilities of a first responder
Medical emergencies Patient assessment
Airway management Adult, child and infant resusitation & defribrillation usage
Emergency oxygen
Traumatic injuries
Catastrophic bleeding
Shock
Poisoning and intoxicating substances
External and internal bleeding
Helmet removal
Cervical collars and pelvic splints
Environmental exposure
Burns and scalds
Minor injuries
Incident reporting

A 3 day conversion or re-qualification course is available to those that already hold a valid First Person on Scene Intermediate Course or have other verifiable training (First Responder Level).This course is ideal for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance services, the event medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces (Close Protection, Maritime Security, or Executive Protection). FREC® is also recognised by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for licensing Purposes. The following qualifications would be suitable to use the conversion course route: First Person on Scene (Intermediate ) Community Responder (Ambulance) Co-Responder (Ambulance/Fire/Police) Police D13 Firearms Medic RNLI Casualty Care Holder or similar.
