The Level 5 First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (FREUC) brings you a step closer to becoming a registered HCPC Paramedic. Learners will already hold the FREC Level 4 (or equivalent) to access the FREUC Level 5.The qualification is split into guided learning (20 days, split over 4 non-consecutive weeks, at our Simulation Facility) and 750 Hours of Clinical Practice. The latter will be with our national and international partners. The course content is in-depth and pitched at diploma level, completing one module per week of the course. This means there is a greater requirement of understanding and the application of human anatomy and physiology in an emergency and urgent care setting. If you’re already working in pre-hospital emergency or urgent care then your employer may be eligible to sponsor your clinical hours whilst at work. This must be approved prior to enrolling on the course. We have placements that will put you at the centre of busy Emergency Departments, Maternity Units, Remote Urgent Care Settings and frontline with Emergency Ambulances. These are not ‘Observer Roles’ you will be expected to think and act at the appropriate level, whilst be advised and observed by our mentors. Our offering is like no other available for the Level 5 First Response Emergency and Urgent Care. Our course directors have personally visited and been employed in the varying placement options for ‘due diligence’ and assessment of quality. Some of our placement options are paid so you can earn whilst qualifying.
